Augusta, GA – JoAnn Pittman, 84, wife of the late Jack Glenn Pittman, Sr., entered into rest on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at her residence.
A graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park, on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 11:00 A.M.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday throughout the day.
Born in Laurens, SC, on December 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Estelle Taylor and William Hallie Simmons, and had made the Augusta area her home since 1971. Mrs.Pittman was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and loved to attend church with Jimmy Swaggart. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who lived her life for her children. She is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Russ.
Mrs. Pittman is survived by her sons, George Richard “Rick” Russ and Robert Michael “Mike” Russ; her grandchildren, Katelynn Dawson, Megan JoAnn Russ, Gerald Lee Russ, Jr., and Crystal Lori Russ; as well as her great grandchildren, Gavin Alan, Nikki, John and Richard Lee.
The family would like to extend their thanks for the angels sent from Kindred Hospice, Jessica, Pam, and Ruthie, who gave Mrs. Pittman wonderful care during her illness.
