James “Jim” Wilburn Goodman, Sr

Augusta, GA – James “Jim” Wilburn Goodman, Sr, husband of Imogene “Jean” Chance Goodman, entered into rest Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Windemere Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2018, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Wes Lawson and Reverend Bruce Allen officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Goodman was a native of Woodward, LA. He retired after 39 years from International Paper and then owned C&G Machine Shop. He was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and the Fite Sunday School Class, and he was a mason.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, James W. Goodman, Jr, of Augusta; his daughter, Jean Goodman Wallace, of Augusta; his stepsons, Lynn Chance (Janet), of Waynesboro, and Donnie Chance, also of Waynesboro; his brother, Roy Goodman (Thelma), of Ellabell, GA; his sister, Henrietta Rogers, of Rock Hill, SC; his grandchildren, Jason Goodman, Jessica Connell, Kelli Arnold, Brandi Wallace, and Joseph Wallace; his step grandchildren, Ashley Chance, Corey Chance, and Heather Chance Wilson; 8 great grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ashley Chance, Corey Chance, Joseph Wallace, Chuck Laricey, Mike White, Chuck Reed, and Johnny Braswell.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Fite Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 13, 2018, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
