James Arthur Fleming

James Arthur Fleming passed away on November, 9, 2022 at the age of 80. 

Throughout his life, James “Jim” pursued a wide range of interests and hobbies such as golf, bowling and antique artifact collecting. Jim was born on August 28, 1942, in the town of Weirton, WV. At the tender age of 19, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country for 22 years. Upon retirement from service, Jim returned to work for the Army as a civilian Loadmaster at Ft Gordon, GA, for 19 more years. Jim remained a true Veteran Supporter all his life. He was an active member of the American Legion (Post 205) in Augusta, GA, until his passing. 

Jim’s focus and dedication in life, was to his wife, Linda (until her passing August 24, 2016) and their 4 children. 

Jim is survived by his two daughters: Susan K. Fleming of Augusta, GA and Kelly B. Larson of Summerville, SC as well as his two sons: James J. Fleming of Beech Island, SC and Jason B. Fleming of Burke, VA. Jim also leaves behind two sisters: Marlene Fleming of Los Angeles, CA and Loretta Hudak of Augusta, GA to cherish his memory. Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Linda S. Fleming of Augusta, GA. 

Jim will be cremated and his remains will be interred with his wife at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery on November 17, 2022, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion (Post 205) 2102 Highland Ave, August, GA 30904.
