James Andrew “Drew” Zimmerman

Appling, Ga. –  James Andrew Zimmerman, 26, ascended into heaven Sunday, March 27, 2011.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Mark Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Zimmerman was born in Augusta and worked for Modern Homes.  He was an avid soccer player and played for both the Columbia County Patriots and the Sewer Rats Soccer teams.  He was a member of The Heritage Foundation and the Rocky Branch Golf Club.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ronald Woodruff and Harold Zimmerman.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Shelley and Chris Reynolds, of Appling; his father, Craig Zimmerman, of Lincolnton; his brothers, Bobby Zimmerman, of Appling, and Christopher Lee Reynolds, Sr and his wife, Cheryl, of Blythe, his sisters Renee Evensen and her husband, Kris, of Aiken, Regina Kirkland and her husband, Bryan, of Augusta; his maternal grandmother, Nancy Woodruff, of Appling, his paternal grandmother, Betty Zimmerman, of Augusta; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Zimmerman, Matthew Martin,Steve Martin, Jeremy Dent, Tommy Walsh, Stuart Kitchens, Brock Taylor and Taylor Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Columbia County Patriots and Sewer Rats soccer teams.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
