J. Douglas (Doug) Rabun

Augusta, GA – J. Douglas (Doug) Rabun, 84, husband of 61 years to Dorothy (Dot) Key Rabun, of Stratford Dr, entered into rest, Friday, March 19, 2010, at Golden Living Center.
Memorial services will be held Monday, March 22, 2009, at 4:00 P.M., from First Baptist Church of Augusta, with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating.
Mr. Rabun, son of the late Oliver and Mollie Cato Rabun, was born in Jefferson County, GA. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Castleberry Foods after 35 years and was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon Emeritus, and a member of the Crusaders Bible Class. He was a member of the Webb Lodge #166, and a former member, and past president, of Forest Hills Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sisters in law, Grace Grayson, of Whitwall, TN, Mrs. Wade H. (Pet) Key, of Jackson, SC, and Carolyn James, of Augusta; nephew, Roger Jenkins, of Augusta; and numerous other nieces and nephews; cousin, Naomi Rabun and her family, of Augusta; and special friends Joe and Sue Converse, of Augusta.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Deacons and the Crusaders Bible Class.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 3500 Walton Way Ext. Augusta, GA 30909.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 21, from 3:00 until 5:00 PM, at the funeral home.

  2. I am sorry to hear about Mr. Rabun’s death. I knew him when he worked at Thomas Poteet and Son with my mom and all them there. Mary Williams my mom says she is sorry about your loss. I pray that yall have the strength to make it through this difficult time.
