Ila Grace Redd Anderson
North Augusta, SC – Ila Grace Redd Anderson, 94, entered into rest on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the home of her son, Billy Anderson of North Augusta, Sc.
Private burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was born on January 12, 1926 to the late Dougal Monroe and Lula Mae Chandler Redd in Fulton County, GA, but resided for most of her life in Augusta.
Her children remember her as a loving mother and grandmother and admired her for the love and care she showed in performing home kidney dialysis for their dad for fifteen years. She was a member of Burns Memorial Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She worked in several pharmacies, including University Hospital pharmacy in Augusta, for many years.
She married the love of her life, William W. Anderson, Jr., on March 5, 1942, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Richard Anderson and Bruce Anderson; a granddaughter, Ivey Marie Anderson; and all ten of her siblings.
Survivors include her son, William W. Anderson, III, and wife Ann of North Augusta, SC; a daughter, Nancy Megee and husband Mike of Amarillo, TX; daughters-in-law, Pamela Anderson of Evans, GA and Kathleen Anderson of Martinez, GA. She was affectionately called “Mammaw” by her nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
