Howard Paul McLean

Augusta, GA – Howard Paul McLean, RT, AART, 60, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Georgia Regents University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Thursday, at 5:00 PM, with Reverend Larry Jesion officiating. A private family interment will be in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. McLean, was born in Aiken, SC, on July 24, 1954 to the late Paul and Elizabeth McLean who entered into rest before him, and step-mother, Reba Keisler. Mr. McLean was a Senior Radiologic Technologist for Surgery, Trauma and Critical Care at Georgia Regents Univeristy Hospital for almost 30 years. He received numerous commendations over the years for his work with patients and physicians. He had a passion as a humanitarian in providing his services to the physicians caring for the sick and injured. He was always caring and giving and he will be missed by his family and colleagues.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Ramsey.

He is survived by his daughters, Emily Rhea McLean Dodgen, Mary Allyson McLean and Holly Elyse McLean who were his lifeblood. He was involved in their lives as a loving father and was very proud of them. His grandchildren, Peyton Alexander Dodgen and John Thomas McLean; his sisters, Leys McLean Poore and Paula McLean Gainey; a brother, William Steven Driver; his first cousins, June George Compton; Roseanne George Steele and Rebecca George Mitchell, all of whom were very much a part of his life growing up and had a very influential impact on his early childhood years.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Augusta Techical College Foundation, Attn: Beverly Peltier, 3200 Augusta Tech Drive, Augusta, GA 30906.

The family will receive friends this Thursday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

  1. My sweet, handsome brother has gone to be with the Lord and our Daddy, Aunt Lucy, Uncle Pete, our sister Beth and beloved Ernie. I know he’s in a better place sipping a brew and cooking some shrimp for all of them! He was well respected by his colleagues and loves his beautiful daughters unconditionally. I love you, Howard!
