Helen Masters

Augusta, GA – Helen Masters, 78, beloved wife of Ricky Masters for over 40 years, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2022, at 11:00 o’clock, from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Reverend Steve Pittman officiating.

Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Masters, daughter of the late Marie Free Mitchum and Walter Mitchum was born in Langley, SC.

She was a homemaker and was member of New Horizon Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherrie Sutton; her brother, Al Mitchum; her sisters Mary Kaney and Sandra Hair.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Bobby Harris (Cindy), Ricky Harris (Brenda), Wesley Jones (Fara), Stephanie Carroll (Jerry), Craig Masters, and Fallon Pollard (Todd); her grandchildren, Tiffany, Jon, Josh, Mandy, Jamie, Lucas, Aubrey, Emily, Canton, Susan, Priscilla, Brittany, Aubrianna, Lilly Beth, Jacob, Melinda, Katherine, Jennifer, Patrick, Colby and 29 great grandchildren; her brothers, Wilbur Mitchum, Jackie Mitchum, and Danny Mitchum; her sisters, Mae Hess and Barbara Lowe.

Pallbearers will be Craig Masters, Todd Pollard, James Powell, Lucas Powell, Trey Shepherd and Morgan Shepherd.

The family will receive friends at 10 o’clock, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

  1. I was so sorry to hear about Helen my husband David and I have traveled with her and Rick many times we have so many great memories with her. Prayers for the family especially Rick who always loved and spoiled his Sweet Helen.

  3. Aunt Helen you will be missed. I have great memories of you teaching my how to swim and allowing me to have Birthday parties at your house. I was shocked and sad to her you passed. God gained another angel. Rick, and to all of her children, grandchildren you are in my thoughts & prayers.

  4. From the days when Helen and I played in her yard as kids, I loved being her cousin.
    We were so close in age it was more like siblings. I love her and will miss her. Prayers for her large, loving family.
