Hayse I. Radford

Hayse I. Radford, 91, beloved husband of almost 64 years to Mae T. Radford, entered into rest Sunday, January 9, 2022, at his Residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Dr. Charles Drummond officiating. 

Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Radford, son of the late Zelma Nolen Radford and Lacey William  Radford,  was born in McAlpin, W VA. He retired from the U.S. Army. After retirement from the army, he retired from Procter and Gamble, Augusta, GA Plant, with  24 years employment. He was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and served in the Sunday School office for many years. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge 412 and had been a member of the Golf Unit at the Augusta Shrine Club. While in the Army, he was among the first to be assigned to combat duty in Korea in 1950. During his time in service, he was awarded the Purple Heart as well as many other awards.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, William I. (Bill) Radford, Sr. (Cindy); his granddaughter, April R. Ortiz (Rodney); his grandson, William I. (BJ) Radford, Jr. (Stephanie); his great grandchildren, Luis Ortiz and Hank Ortiz as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. He loved his family and was a proud Dad, Granddaddy and Opa.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Ortiz, Luis Ortiz, Ron Forkey, Doug Lively, Keith Washington, and Ryan Washington.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 5:00- 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
