Gloria McDonald “Vonnie” Peluso

class=”alignleft wp-image-7384 size-thumbnail” src=”×150.jpg” alt=”” width=”150″ height=”150″ />Gibson, GA – Gloria McDonald “Vonnie” Peluso, 69, wife of the late Paul Peluso, entered into rest on Saturday, Janaury 20, 2018 at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors on Monday, Janaury 29, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Dr. Rick Bunkley officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Peluso, a native of Louisville, had made the Augusta area her home most of her life, and was the daughter of the late George T. and Hazel Elizabeth McDonald. She was a graduate of Butler High School and maintained a close friendship with her fellow graduates. She had retired from the Jefferson County School System as an Education Specialist. She dedicated her personal and working life to helping others to achieve an education, their personal goals and developing life skills. Following her retirement she enjoyed traveling. She was a faithful follower of Christ and an active member in the workings of the Edgehill Church of God.

In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Peluso was preceded in death by her brother, Joel T. McDonald, Sr.; and her nephew, Joel T. McDonald, Jr.

Survivors include her niece, Stacy Page (the late Donald V. Page), of Canton, GA; her nephew, Chris McDonald of Augusta; her great niece and nephew, Aidan and Hadley McDonald; an uncle, J.C. Walden of Blythe, GA; and an aunt, Annette Marschie of Brownsville, WI; as well as a very large circle of loving cousins and other close family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Edgehill Church of God, c/o Essie Broxton, 2050 Rosier Rd., Waynesboro, GA, 30830.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

  1. My condolences to the Family. Just a word of encougement. May our loving creator (Jehovah God) be with you all to give you peace and hope. Acts 24:15 “THERE IS GOING TO BE A RESURRECTION”. This is a promise from the God who cannot lie. Take refuge in Him through prayer. May you have peace.

  2. When Vonnie was growing up in Gibson Georgia, she was a playmate of mine, and I have some fond memories of her. We lost track of each other thru the years, but I remember hearing about her marriage and then the sadness of losing her chosen soulmate at such a young age. Her obit, however, indicated she lived a pretty full and happy life. May she rest in peace until meeting up with her loved ones who went on before her.
