Francis Marion Bubba Rhodes

Augusta, GA – Francis Marion “Bubba” Rhodes, husband of the late Bernice Waller Rhodes, entered into rest Monday, September 22, 2014, at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. Brad Witt officiating.

Family and friends are requested to assemble at the graveside.

Mr. Rhodes, son of the late Sam and Annie Ruth Dye Rhodes, was born in Wilkes County, GA. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW Post #178. He retired as a project engineer with the Department of Transportation, and then worked for CSRA Testing for fifteen years.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Sam Rhodes, Jack Rhodes, Jennie Ruth Lindsey, and Nita Edwards.

He is survived by his sons, Marion Allen Rhodes and his wife, Laurie, of Augusta, and Brian Keith Rhodes and his arnaques casinos en ligne wife, Lydia, of Evans; his daughter, Angela Rhodes Parlier and her husband, Mike, of Grovetown; his brothers, Charles Rhodes, Glenn Rhodes, and Freddie Rhodes, all of Wilkes County; his sisters, Phyllis Drake and Peggy Callaway, both of Wilkes County, and Olivia Norman, of Lincolnton; his grandchildren, Christopher Rhodes, Sandi Penvose, and Corey Rhodes; and his great grandchildren, Carter and Carley Penvose.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Rhodes, Corey Rhodes, Mike Parlier, Keith Penvose, Mike Pope, and Chan Drake.

The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd floor of the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home for all their kindness and care over the last seven years.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 24, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
