Frances “Edwina” Taylor

Edwina Taylor, 76, of Augusta died Monday. She was born in Sylacauga, Al., daughter of the late Edward and Violia Carter. Surviving are two children Deborah Hobbs of Barlett, Tn., Terry Spears (Louise) of Camak,Ga. and son-in-law, Lonnie Pierce; 7 grandchildren: Allen Hobbs Jr., Heather Tidwell, Jimmy Stanley, Terry Spears Jr., Joni Cowart(Olin), Amy Sandefer (Bubba), John Spears (Shannon) and13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Julie Lynn Pierce, her brother Earl Carter, and her nephew Edward “Butch” Carter.

Edwina was a member of Columbia County Christian Church. She retired from Aidmore Animal Clinic after working as an office manager for over twenty years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a kind and loyal friend and was loved by many. She was a great person because of her commitment to her faith, family, friends, neighbors, and people in general. She constantly encouraged and actively tried to help people be their best. She gave to others unceasingly.


Friends will be received at Columbia County Christian Church, 4004 Prescott Dr., Martinez from 3:30-4:30 on Wednesday, May 7th. The funeral service will be at 4:30.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Columbia County Christian Church in honor of Edwina.
