Dorothy “Dot” Griswell
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Thrusday, March 9, 2017, at 12:00 P.M., with Pastors Lanis Lewis and Terry Bonds officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Ms. Griswell, a native and lifelong resident of the Augusta area, was the daughter of the late William and Mary Alice Harper. She had worked as a Supervisor for Homestead Draperies and was the Manager of both the Southgate Lounge and the Silver Bullet Lounge. She loved her grandchildren, to cook, to fish and to watch NASCAR. She had attended Bible Deliverance Temple.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Griswell.
Survivors include her signifigant other, Douglas “Mac” James; her children, Linda Redd (Ricky), Michael Griswell (Cindy); her step-children, Kristy Tutan (James), Allen Strong (Vera); her brother, Richard Harper (Barbara); her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sean Tuten, Lane Tuten, Allen Strong, Cody Redd, Brian Dickerson and Brandon Phillips.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
