Diane Hollins Ford

Hilton Head, SC – Diane Hollins Ford, 63, wife of 42 years to Michael Ford, entered into rest Friday, March 25, 2016, after an illness.

Memorial services will be held Friday, April 1, 2016, at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Gene Hollins officiating.

Mrs. Ford, daughter of the late Edward Hollins and Frieda Hollins, was born and raised in Augusta, GA. She was a 1971 graduate of Butler High School and the owner of Hollins Radiator Shop. She was elected in 1992 to the Columbia County Commission where she served until her retirement in 2009. After retiring she relocated to Hilton Head, SC. She was a member of West Acres Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Brian Ford, of Appling, GA; her daughter Ashlynn Scruggs and son in law, Donnie Scruggs, Jr, of Grovetown, GA; and her grandchildren, Carter and Reese Scruggs, also of Grovetown, GA.

If so desired memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142; or to American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Ste 2700, New York, NY 10006.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 1, 2016, from 2:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.

The people you left behind will always hurt and miss you but one day we will all be together…Bless your hearts, Mike, Brian and Ashlyn….MIKE….You were the husband that always showed your love for her, every time I saw yall.

  2. I was sorry to learn of Diane’s death. She served on the County Commission while
    I was Clerk of Superior Court. Always helpful to me. My deepest sympathy to the
    entire family.
