Dennis Evans Bedichek

Augusta, GA – Dennis Evans Bedichek, 48, husband of 26 years to Suzanne Braswell Bedichek, entered into rest Monday, May 7, 2018, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 11, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Morningside Baptist Church, 1825 Kissingbower Rd, Augusta, with Pastor Wallace Hoyle officiating.

Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Bedichek was born in Ft. Knox, KY, and was a member of the National Guard from 1990-1993. He was a Deputy with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department until health would not permit, and coached for the Richmond County Recreation Department for many years. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Melody Morgan Bedichek, and his stepmother, Virginia McMahan.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his father, Floyd McMahan, of Hinesville, and his father Jerry Bedichek (Carol), of Lake Hartwell, GA; his mother-in-law Annette Braswell and the late James Braswell; his daughters, Taylor Bedichek Collins (Bucky), of Augusta, and Melody Morgan Bedichek, also of Augusta; his brothers, Troy David Bedichek (Abby), of Royceton, GA, Jeremy Todd Bedichek, of Tulsa, OK, and J.R. McMahan, of Hinesville, GA; his grandchildren, John Ryder Collins, and Luke Evans Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Richard Hyde, Travis Willis, Jayson Bell, Nick Woods, Jay Mixon, David Vining, and Chris Niehus.

Anyone who knew Dennis would tell you about his sense of humor. Needless to say there was never a dull moment.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 10, 2018, at the funeral home, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM to celebrate his life.

  3. You will always be with us. I see you John’s spirit and Luke’s smile. In the kindness of your daughters Taylor & Morgan. Their sweetness especially when they think no one is watching. Especially in the strength and love of Suzanne every day. RIP Dennis you will be missed forever. You touched so many in your short time here far too many to count. It was an honor to know you.

I hope the Bedichek family find comfort and strength in Jesus promise of the earthly resurrection, where death will be eliminated forever. This promise is given by our heavenly father, Jehovah.
