Colton “Cody” Ken Sanders

Clarks Hill, SC – Colton “Cody” Ken Sanders, 29, husband of Krystal Gayle Sanders, entered into rest Saturday, August 18, 2018.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Ben Bush officiating.

Interment will follow at 1:00 PM in Wrens Memorial Gardens, Wrens, GA.

Mr. Sanders, son of Kenneth and Stephanie Sanders, of Wrens, and son in law of Teddy McCoy, of Honea Path, SC, and Lynn Smith, of Rush Springs, OK, was a supervisor with R.W. Bussey Construction Company and served in the United States Army for five years. Colton worked for Bussey Construction Company as a supervisor for the past three years. He had many many friends who thought the world of him. He was kind, polite and never met a stranger. He was well thought of and respected by people from judges to plain working-class people.He was always cheerful and he put his heart and soul into his work every day. He went above and beyond to see that everything was done right. He was truly a remarkable person and a hard worker who did his best at whatever he did. Bussey Construction Company was proud to have him as an employee and he will be severely missed by each and everyone whose heart he touched.

In addition to his wife and their parents, he is survived by his children, Nevaeh and Kaitlin Sanders, of Hephzibah, GA; his brother, Brandon Sanders (Brandy), his nephew, Tucker Sanders, and niece, Brooklyn Sanders, all of Wrens, GA; his sister, Priscilla Johnston (Jim), his nephews, Levi and Luke Johnston, all of Tennille, GA; and his paternal grandparents, Arnold G. and Gaynell Sanders, of Lebanon, TN. Mr. Sanders was also survived by the man he referred to as his adopted father, Raford W. Bussey, of Clarks Hill, SC.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Sanders, Paul Jones, Kyle Jones, T.J. McCoy, Jason Hammond, Coven Smith, and Jeremy Jones.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 21, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

  2. You are all in my thoughts & prayers… I hadn’t seen Cody in years but grew up with him all through school. I will always remember his contagious smile & how he was always happy & making everyone laugh. I pray he is at peace in Heaven! So sorry for your loss.
