Charlotte A. “Gigi” Owens

Augusta, GA – Charlotte A. “Gigi” Owens, 101, wife of the late James Alfred “J.A.” Owens, entered into rest on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Augusta Gardens.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 12:00 P.M., with the Reverend Rick Nevard officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M.until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Duncan, Charley Duncan, Cole Quarles, Carson Quarles, Rylan Reese, Shayne Owens and Nicholas Reese.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Seth Davis, Jeremy Clements and T.D. Davis.

Born in Augusta on October 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Isidore and Vickie Muns Aaronson, and had made the Augusta area her home all of her life. Mrs. Owens had worked for Tupperware Home Parties for over 22 years and became a top manager even appearing on the cover of the Tupperware Magazine. She was an accomplished poet and wrote poetry for inspiration having “Come Go With Me to Toyland” published. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, a member of the GA/Lina Walk to Emmaus Community and taught Sunday School at Westminister Presbyterian Church.

In addition to Mr. J.A. Owens she was preceded in death by her siblings, Perry Aaronson, Harold “Chubby” Aaronson, Estelle Carr, Alice Hammer; and her brother-in-law, Bernard Creech.

Mrs. Owens is survived by her children and their spouses, C. Wayne and Shirley Owens and Mark and Lilly Owens; her grandchildren, Wayne Owens, II, Angela Westenfeld (Terry), Melanie Quarles and Heather Reese (Sean); her great grandchildren, Brandy Clements (Jeremy), Kessler Davis (Seth), Savannah Davis (T.D.), Shayne Owens, Jenny Green (C.J.), Charley Duncan (Adrianna), Jackson Tyler Duncan (Breanna), Cole Quarles (Emily), Carson Quarles (Isabella), Rylan Reese, Nicholas Reese and Bella Reese; nine great great grandchildren, Alyssa, Copeland, Knox, Oaklyn, Rhett, Isla, Brooklyn, Grayson and Brantley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

  7. Wayne and family, Mark and family. If I had known about the passing of your Mom, I would have come home from Orlando. I have great memories of living next door to you all in Albion Acres. GOD needed another flower in HIS garden and HE picked your Mom. GOD bless your families.
