Carole L. Cooper

Waynesboro, GA – Carole L. Cooper, 91, wife of the late John Thomas Cooper, Sr., went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 7, 2017.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 11, 2017, at 11:00 AM from Magnolia Cemetery, 703 W. 6th St, Waynesboro, GA, with Dr. G. Al Wright and Greg Coursey officiating.

Family and friends are requested to assemble at the graveside.

Mrs. Cooper, daughter of the late Richard Henry and Maggie Mae Deason Quick, was born in Jenkins County, GA, and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro for 60 years and a member of the Joy Sunday School class until it merged with the Spares and Pairs Sunday School Class. She was a strong Southern, soft-spoken, and gentle lady who will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Tommy Cooper and Wayne Cooper, and by her grandson, Jerry Jenkins, Jr.

She is survived by her son, David Y. Cooper, Sr., of Waynesboro; her daughters, Linda C. Jenkins (Jerry), of Waynesboro, and Shelia C. Long (Donnie), of Hephzibah; her daughters in law, Martha Cooper, of Waynesboro, and Sherlee Cooper, of Millen; her sister, Mamie Q. Thomas (Hardy), of Lyons, GA; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

If so desired memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, Building Fund, 853 N. Liberty St, Waynesboro, GA 30830; or to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Linda Jenkins. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
