Calvin “Doc” Savage

Augusta, GA  – Calvin “Doc” Savage, 89, husband of Elizabeth Anne Savage, entered into rest Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at his Residence.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM, from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Dr. Dwayne Carter officiating.

Mr. Savage, son of the late Katherine Cochran Savage and Russell Savage, was born in Rockaway, NJ. He was Founder of Doc Savage Heating and Air, and he attended Fleming Baptist Church. He served as Chaplain for Fleming Masonic Lodge, was Treasurer of Conditioned Air Contractors Association, and he was a member of Coachman Motorhome Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Joey Savage (Renee), Debbie Savage Real (Billy); his grandchildren, Shelby Real Haas (Ronald), Tristen Real, Hunter Savage, and Morgann Savage.

Pallbearers will be Reed Eubanks, Billy Real, Mike Prather, Troy Hill, Hunter Savage, Henry Coleman, and Mario Hill.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of Doc Savage Heating and Air.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 7, 2022, from 10:00 AM until time of service, at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2510 Richmond Hill Rd., Augusta, GA 30906.

  1. I am proud to have known doc. He was a true gentleman and a proud us veteran as witnessed by his son Joe in a tribute to my dad and all veterans . May his fighting Spirit be remembered by all who knew him. God bless his family with a wonderful Legacy.

  3. Blessed is playing the piano for a trio of Doc, Chester Legget and Mr. Thigpen. They are most likely singing “When we all get to Heaven” or possibly a ” Land where we”ll never grow old.”

  4. My sincerest condolences to the Savage family. I attended church with Doc, Joey and Renee for a long time. Doc was a sweet man and would do anything to help someone in need. He will be truly missed! He was certainly one of a kind!

  8. I am sorry to hear of your loss Joey and I will be praying for you and the rest of the family as you go through this time. I remember your dad as a very happy man and very caring also. My dad really liked him and so did mom and I. I know he is so happy now and in such wonderful peace.
