Service

Brianna E. (Star) Elliott

Augusta, GA – Brianna E. (Star) Elliott, 26, entered into rest Monday, November 1, 2021, at Augusta University Hospital.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:00 PM, from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Deacon John “Doc” Grant officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of service. Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, 2502 Richmond Hill Road, Augusta, GA, 30906.

Her service is to be a celebration of her colorful spirit, so the family is requesting that formal, sullen attire, not be worn. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. There will be a gathering the next day at the James Brown Arena’s Winsor Club for those who wish to fellowship with her closest friends and family. Details forthcoming.

Brianna, daughter of Sarah Katherine Fitzgerald Crisp and Robert Keith Crisp, was born at Ft. Lewis, WA. She was employed at Vision Wireless (Loop) as part of their Tech Support Team.

In addition to her devoted parents, she is survived by her precious son, Finnegan K. Elliott; her beloved sister, Amanda K. Crisp; her paternal grandmother, Melinda S. Crisp; her maternal grandmother; Barbara A. Fitzgerald; her aunts, Amy C. Tomko and Rebecca J. Fitzgerald; her cousin Kaydin Xon.

Brianna was able to bring an abundance of love and sunshine to all the family and friends she touched during her short time. She faced extremely difficult life challenges – ones that no child should have to – but did so with a fierce desire to come through the other side strong. She was a talented artist (despite being too critical of her work) and those of us who managed to wrestle a drawing from her, before she decided it was not good enough, are blessed to have a piece of her in remembrance.

In May 2021, Brianna was diagnosed with epilepsy. This diagnosis made her world small and because she was, at the core, a steadfastly independent young woman, it was difficult for her to accept limitations. Her head and body are no longer hurting and that brings, those who love her, some small comfort.

She believed in a Being who cared for souls once a person’s body wore out. As I write this last tribute to her, I know we all pray that her soul is comforted.

Brianna’s eyes were lovingly donated to the GA Eye Bank for transplant. May others be so blessed as to see the sunshine and beautiful art in this world, that she no longer can.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers, if someone is moved to donate toward her services, they may do so by contacting Chance & Hydrick directly at (706) 790-8567. Any excess donations will be directly sent to her son’s GA 529 college fund.

  1. I worked with Brianna for years and always admired her hard work and dedication to her job. I am so sorry for the family’s loss and hope they can find peace through knowing she came to know Jesus. She was a fun, loving mother and friend. Regret and sadness are words that come to mind but don’t begin to describe the feelings that I have towards her loss. Prayers for many blessings on Finn’s life. I pray he finds peace and comfort throughout his life knowing his mom loved him so much.
