Billy Ruben Atkins

Grovetown, GA  – Billy Ruben Atkins, 78, husband of the late Dixie Ann Ruffin Atkins, entered into rest Monday, February 14, 2022, at his Residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 11:00 AM, from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Frank Thigpen officiating.

Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Atkins, son of the late Inez Lane Atkins and Estes Atkins, was born in Augusta, GA. He was a Printer at Phoenix Printing Group and was a member of Grove First Baptist Church and a past member of the Eagles Club.

Billy was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, and he was ecstatic with the 2021 National Championship win.

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

He is survived by his children, Cathy and Eric Howard, Chuck and Tammi Atkins; his grandchildren, Amanda Howard, Travis Howard, Ashley Atkins; his sisters, Barbara Powell, Mildred Fennell (Tommy), Betty Figgins (Chris); several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Hadden, Hugh Hurst, Robert Cheek, Chris Redmond, Jerry Neal, and Paul Hall.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
