Billy G. Dixon

Augusta, GA – Billy G. Dixon, 78, husband of 56 years to Millie G. Dixon, entered into rest Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 6, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Joe Bowden, MD, officiating and music provided by special friend, Alan Gunter.

Mr. Dixon, son of the late Johnnie and Cleo Frost Dixon, was born in Johnson County, GA, and was a Baptist. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Maintenance with Regency Mall.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Rebecca Dixon; his son, Jason Matthew Dixon; his granddaughter, Ansley Day, and his half-brother, Irving Smith.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Gina D. Lucas (Jarrod), of Grovetown, Patrick Dixon (Angie), of Moscow, TN, and Meg D. Day (Shelly), of Martinez; his grandchildren, Emily L. Scheff (Joe), Alicia L. Boerema (Tim), Sean Dixon, Andrew Day, Katie Madera (David), Joseph Lucas, Peyton Day, and Spencer Manning; and six special great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Shelly Day, Andrew Day, Jarrod Lucas, Joseph Lucas, Tim Boerema, and Joe Scheff.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 6, 2018, from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at the funeral home.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. I’ve lost many whom I love, and I found much comfort in the Bible. Revelation 21:4 tells us that there will soon come a time when,”He [God] will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more!” It is so wonderful to know that grief and death will be gotten rid of! I hope this brings you comfort during this difficult time!!
