Billy Braxton Causey

Augusta, GA – Billy Braxton Causey, 83, entered into rest Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Administration Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 12:00 noon from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend John Kilpatrick officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Causey, son of the late William Albert and Annie Liza Branch Causey, was a native of Baxley, GA, and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime employee of DeLaigle Concrete and Lambeth Lumber. He was a member of Silvercrest Baptist Church. He was a kind, gentle man who loved his family (especially the grandchildren.) He worked hard and would help anyone.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Guillory; and his siblings, Hazel Sapp, Liza Ridgdill, Reverend Aaron Causey, Bonnie Tanner, Emma Cain, Chap Causey, and Irene Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie Mae Causey; his son, Daniel Causey (Mary), of Appling; his daughter, Brenda Luther (Charles), Bulls Gap, TN; his grandchildren, Adrian Gary, Christy Dennis, Tanya Tinley, Stephanie Adorin, Travis Guillory, Danielle Couch (Lane), Billy B, Causey, Matthew Guillory, and Randy Guillory; nineteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Special thanks to Roger and Ruth Tomlin (niece) for many years of love and care, and to Danielle and Lane Couch and the staff and caretakers at the VA for their service and care.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 11:00 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
