Betty J. Stokes

Augusta, GA.- Betty J. Stokes, 84, wife of the late Marion Howard (Bill) Stokes, entered into rest Monday, November 14, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Stephen Black officiating.

Interment will be Friday at 2:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington, NC.

Mrs. Stokes, daughter of the late John D. and Viola Nelson Wells, was born in Wilmington, NC. She was a homemaker and attended Solomon’s Porch.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Shearer (Rob), of Pekin, IL, and Kim Grimaud (Andy), of Lithia, FL; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 until the hour of the service.

Sister Betty, Often Thought About You Thank You For The Many Blessing Shared With Myself as Well As Everyone you Were So Devoted To Do The Ministry Jesus Had Given You And Did So In His Precious Love, You Touched Many Hearts Thank You.
