Hephzibah, GA – Barbara Joan Farrow, 78, affectionately known as “Sister”, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

A home-going service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2016, from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Reverend Kevin Towns officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Joan was born on August 20, 1937, in Hephzibah, GA, to the late Hugh Lee and Irene Morgan. She retired as a Recreation Center Coordinator from the Jamestown Community Center. She was a very loving mother, granny, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, niece, and cousin. Her passion was giving and taking care of her family while putting her own needs aside. She loved talking on the phone to her best friend, Kathrine Hargis. Many hours were spent watching ballgames over the phone with her sister, Wynell Hartfield. She also loved to talk for hours over the phone with her sister-in-law, Janice Morgan, and her nephew, Mikey Morgan.

In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her son, Richard “Ricky” Lee Farrow, grandson, Robert Lynn Tollison “Tolly”, her sisters, Miriam Borren, and Gloria Whitehead, her brothers, Jimmy Morgan, Gerald Morgan, and Bobby Morgan, and nephew, Randy Borren.

She is survived by her son, Michael Dean Farrow; her daughters, Brenda Babel, Patricia Strakosch (Doug), Debra Farrow (James); her grandchildren, Robyn Helt (Scott), Patrick Babel, Sherri Babel, Brandi Newsome (Josh), Heather Edsall, Kelli Barnett (Luke); and the granddaughter she lovingly raised, Christian Mills (Rudy), and many great gramdchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Wynell Hartsfield, Linda Thornton (George), Sheryl Brantley (Walter), and Marcia Turner; brothers, Hugh Lee Morgan and Michael Morgan.

The family would like to express gratitude for all the love shown by cards, letters, phone calls, visits, food, and the many prayers.

Pallbearers will be Dale Hutto, Logan Prince, Michael Morgan, Marshall Masters, Ronald Masters, Daryl Thornton, and Curtis Thornton. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of the Augusta Recreation and Parks Department.
Ms. Farrow’s family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2016, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
