Arthur William Wylds, Jr.

Grovetown, GA – Arthur William Wylds, Jr, 80, husband of 34 years to Doris Carter Wylds, entered into rest Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Doctor’s Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Pastor Gerald McNutt and Pastor Tony Henderson officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Wylds, son of the late Arthur William Wylds, Sr and Frances Etterlee Wylds, was a native of Richmond County. He was a member of Morning Star Fellowship and the VFW Post #150. He served in the United States Air Force for four years as crew chief and eight years in the US Air Force Reserves. He retired after twenty-nine years from the Graniteville Company.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Gary Wylds, of Jacksonville, FL, Nicky Jewell and his wife, Debbie, of Grovetown, and Carl Jewell and his wife Amy, of Tignall; his daughters, Patricia Gail Brown, of Grovetown, and Melinda Mansfield, of Augusta; eight grandsons; seven granddaughters; seventeen great grandchildren; and many, many, devoted and wonderful friends.
Pallbearers will be Danny Thompson, Brian Jewell, Larry McCarty, Andy Thompson, Rick Doyle, and Steve Carter.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 31, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

  2. Ms. Doris, I was shocked when I saw this in the paper. Arthur was a very special person to me and I looked forward to seeing him every Sunday. He is no longer in pain, he is in the arms of his father and doing fine. We will keep you in our prayers
