April Joy Day
On January 9, 2022, April Joy Day passed away unexpectedly at age 37, surrounded by family members and those that loved her. She was preceded by her maternal grandparents John and Geneva Carswell. She was survived by her mother Janet Day; her brothers Jonathan (Joe) and Brad (Gabby); her nephews Bain, Jack, and Kellan; and the several other aunts, uncles, and cousins that she has impacted over the years.
April was born on August 20, 1984 in Augusta, Ga to her mother Janet Day; and from the minute this beautiful and fair-haired child was introduced to this world, she knew exactly who she was. She was strong-willed yet selfless, serving as a second parent to her two siblings and as an additional sister to her cousins Jennifer, Melanie, Christy, Amanda, and Jordan. As she grew up, these strong leadership qualities led her to become valedictorian of her graduating class and a successful tech support supervisor of a national telecom company. However, April’s greatest accomplishment was ascending to the head of her small yet extended family, whether it was being a loving aunt to her three nephews or becoming a support system to her mother Janet.
April will be remembered for her no-nonsense attitude, her pragmatic approach to any conflicts, and her ability to organize and execute any project that she wanted to accomplish. Moreover, she will be known as a charitable and giving person, from baking cakes for last-minute events to comforting anyone who needed it. Finally, she will be known as a woman who loved her family and friends with conviction, something that will be felt by all the people who were impacted by her.
A celebration of April’s life will be held on Thursday, January 13th from 2:00-4:00 pm at 3217 Riverstone Drive, Augusta, GA 30907. Please come with any memories of April you would like to share. Flowers may be sent to the above address.
