Annie Liza Causey Ridgdill

Augusta, GA – Annie Liza Causey Ridgdill, beloved wife of Walton Odum Ridgdill, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 10, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at Silvercrest Baptist Church this Wednesday, April 13, at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend John Kilpatrick and Dr. Eleazer Benehaley officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Ridgdill was a native of Baxley, GA, and the daughter of the late William Albert and Annie Liza Branch Causey. She grew up on her family’s farm with her parents and her four sisters and three brothers. As a young woman during WWII, she worked in the shipyards in Brunswick as a “Rosie Riveter”. She moved with her husband and their six children to Augusta in 1960. Faith and family were always first in her life. An active member of Silvercrest Baptist Church, she taught Vacation Bible school each year. Her home was always filled with friends and family. She was happiest in her kitchen preparing one of her delicious meals, complete with her famous dressing and homemade biscuits. Mrs. Ridgdill was truly a blessing to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed until we see her again in heaven.

Mrs. Ridgdill was preceded in death by her son, Henry Odum Ridgdill; her sisters, Irene Brown, Hazel Sapp and Emma Cain; and her great granddaughter, Maria Lynn Evans.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her loving family, daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy R. and Howard Johnson, Ruth and Roger Tomlin; sons and daughters-in-law, James Elmer and Cathy Ridgdill, Billy Reed and Jan Ridgdill, Aaron Gaynor and Terri Ridgdill; step-children, Doris Richardson and her husband Garry and Robert Beltempo; brothers, Chap and his wife Joann Causey; Reverend Aaron Causey and Billy Braxton Causey; sister, Bonnie Tanner; grandchildren, Angela J. Scott and her husband Jeff, Dr. Penny Ridgdill, Heather Ridgdill, Antonetta “Toni” Evans and her husband Evan, Roger S. Tomlin, Jr., and Amber Ridgdill; step-grandchildren, Jesse Ridgdill, Jason Youngblood and John Houbolt; great grandchildren, Shelby Lizabeth Scott, Annie Isabella Evans and Forest Walton Evans; step-great grandchildren, Lynzie White and Toby White.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Silvercrest Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
