Amy Harden Gormley

Augusta, GA – Amy Harden Gormley, 70, wife of 54 years to Alfred “Buddy” Gormley, entered into rest Sunday, May 10, 2015, at her residence, after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Reverend Marian Jay officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Gormley, daughter of the late William and Amy Powell Harden, was born in Louisville, GA. She was a cake decorator for 25 years with Kroger and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Gormley.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Angela Gribanow, and her husband, John, of Seymour, TN, Janice McCoy, and her husband, Mark, of Augusta, and Amy Fryburger, also of Augusta; her brother, John Beasley, of KS; her sisters, Thelma Adcock, of Athens, GA, and Jean Muns, of Jackson, SC; eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Moody Reese, Wayne McCoy, Eugene Muns, Christopher Gribanow, Robert Gribanow, and Todd Gribanow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick and Jannel Marsh, Ruby English, Rose Six, and Kroger #237.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 13, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

  4. Oh I didn’t know… And I am so very sorry.. Mrs. Gormley was an amazing woman and was so very kind to me. I loved her very much. I hope she has found peace and comfort in her passing and has found Richard up there!!
