Waynesboro, GA – Ray Williamson, Jr, 63, entered into rest Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Jerry Wilson officiating.
Mr. Williamson, son of the late Ray and Ellaree Breaux Williamson, Sr, was born in Augusta. He was with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department for eighteen years before going into private investigation work with Gene Stalcup. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his son, Michael Wayne Williamson and his wife, Shannon, of Grovetown; his daughter, Stephanie Wyrick and her husband, Levi, of Waynesboro, his adopted daughter, Teresa Williamson Bearden, of Charleston, SC; the mother of his children, Sara Williamson, of Hephzibah; his grandchildren, Courtney Williamson, Madison Williamson, Peyton Williamson, Mallery Wyrick, and Wyatt Wyrick; his sister, Valerie Stoner, of Louisiana; and his nieces, Tina Hickman and Heather White.

Martinez, GA – Ella Mae “Snooks” Guy, born August 31, 1929, entered into rest, Sunday, May 12, 2013.

Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Guy, daughter of the late Bailey and Briney Coxville Welch was born in Jefferson County. She worked as a spinner with Enterprise Mill and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ira Cullen Guy, Jr; daughter, Bonnie Elaine Baker; son-in-law, Leonard Franklin Cliett, Jr, “Butch”, granddaughter, Heather Guy Ware; and by two brothers, and four sisters.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Gail) Guy, Diann Cliett, George (Nancy) Guy, and Patsy (Earl) Evans; and by her 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Cris Cliett, Lin Cliett, Sam Guy, Ross Zittrouer, Sean Neal, and Bryan Cates.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sherwood Baptist Ladies Inspirational Sunday School Class.

Augusta, GA – Autumn Rose Wactor, 32, entered into rest Friday, May 10, 2013, at the her residence.
Miss Wactor, a native and lifelong resident of Augusta was a 2002 graduate of Greenbrier High School and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.
She is survived by her mother, Robin Key Wactor; her brother, William Thomas Wactor of Augusta; and her half-aunt, Sharon Szczepankiewicz, of Florida.
The family has plans for a service at a later date and time.

Augusta, GA- Vicki Darlene Cook, lover, soulmate and confidant of Oscar S. Varn passed away on May 7, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital.
Vicki had moved here to Augusta with Oscar in 2008. Vicki and Oscar moved back to his home town where she took care of Mrs. Eloise Varn until she passed. Vicki and Oscar were together a total of twelve years.

Augusta, GA – Lucy Elizabeth Norton Collins, 86, wife of the late Lovell Collins, entered into rest Monday, May 6, 2013 at the residence.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 1:00 PM in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating.
Mrs. Collins was born in Gainesville, TX to the late Frank and Nannie Truit Norton. She was a member of the Mary Culler White Circle and attended Burns United Methodist Church. She loved to garden, cook and read. She dabbled in art and was a avid rose grower.
Survivors include her children, Gerald Collins of Augusta and Della Collins of Bloomington, IN; sisters, Mary Norton of Gainesville, TX and Nan Platas of Cueravaca, Mexico and her neice Ellen Riggs of Santa Fe, NM.

Grovetown, GA – Julia Robinson Lewis (“Memaw” to many), 83, wife of the late, Julian Stanley Lewis, Sr, entered into rest Monday, April 29, 2013, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 3:00 PM from Greater Augusta Apostolic Church, 4406 Wrightsboro Rd, Grovetown, GA, with Reverend Terry Newsome and Reverend Stanley Lewis officiating. She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lewis, daughter of the late Marvin K, Sr and Fannie Lou Widener Robinson, was a native of Richmond County. She was a homemaker and a member of Greater Augusta Apostolic Church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frankie Robinson, and Marvin K. Robinson, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Julian Stanley Lewis and his wife, Nellie, of Grovetown; her daughter, Cheryl Holton and her husband, Mike, also of Grovetown; her grandchildren, Allison Watts and her husband, George, Alex Lewis, Lauryn Holton, and Bethany Holton; her sister, Patricia Lowe and her husband, Charlie, of Grovetown; brothers-in-law, Gilford Lewis and Lenwood Lewis; sister-in-law, Gloria Robinson; a host of nieces and nephews; many other friends and family; and a special church family, all which she loved dearly.
A special thanks to her caregivers at MCG, Kentwood Rehab, Gentiva Home Health and Hospice for their loving care and kindness.

Graniteville, SC – Joseph Wayne Martin, Sr, 73, husband of Frances L. Martin, entered into rest Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.

Mr. Martin, son of the late Randall E. and Della Johnson Martin, was born in Midvale, OH, and served in the United States Army. He was an Investigator with the Richmond County Board of Education.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph W. Martin, Jr, and his wife, Cheryl; his daughter, Pamela Arrington, and her husband, Mike; six grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Mr. Messer was born in Cherokee County , GA to the late Kimsey Lee and Estelle Cody Messer Moore. He was a 27 year veteran of the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Department and attended Liberty United Methodist Church .
He was preceded in death by his brothers James Lee Messer and Walter Moore; sister, Patricia Gaus.
In addition to his wife survivors include his son, Randy Messer and his fiance Faye Lunsford; grandchildren, Christopher, Chance, Rebekah and Spencer; sisters, Ruth Leopard of Travelers Rest, SC, Reba Moore and her husband Mike of Simpsonville, SC, Mary Ann Carlton, of Simpsonville, SC; brother, Danny Moore and his wife Martha of Brevard, NC; sisters-in-laws, Libby Goodwin of Augusta, June Yuan of Warrenville, SC, Paulette Padgett and Pam Young and her husband Larry all of North Augusta, SC; brothers-in-laws, John Story and his wife Rita of Thomson, GA and Howard Gaus of Burlington, NJ and numerous neices and nephews.

Augusta, GA – Allen Dean Ships, IV, 27, husband of Deire Hightower Shipes, entered into rest Saturay, April 13, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Shipes, son of Allen Dean and Cathy Porter Shipes, Jr. was a native of Augusta and a lifelong resident of the Augusta area. He was a graduate of Burke County High and had worked in his fathers business, Affordable Maintenance. Most recently he was working for the Plunkett Heating and Air Company. He loved racing and workng on cars, fishing, the outdoors and especially Las Vegas .
He was preceded in death by his bother, Allen Dean Shipes, III and his father-in-law, Coley Hightower, Jr.
In addition to his wife and parents other survivors include his daughter, Alissa Shipes and a son on the way, Allen Dean Shipes, V; brother, Christopher Lee Shipes; paternal grandparents, Allen Dean and Xem Shipes, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Jean A. Porter; mother-in-law, Ophleia Hightower; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Wendell Allen Keith CSM – (Ret.) US ARMY
Augusta, GA – CSM (Ret.) Wendell Allen Keith, 69, husband of Theresia P. Keith, entered into rest Sunday, April 7, 2013 at his residence.
Memorial services, with military honors, will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors with Chaplain David Ward officiating.
Mr. Keith, a native of Pocahontas , TN , was the son of the late Charles Woodrow Keith and Mildred Ruth Keith Wammack. He served his country in the U.S. Army, with four tours in Vietnam , and retired following thirty one years of service with the rank of CSM. He also retired as a civil servant from Fort Gordon having worked twenty one years. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
In addition to his wife Mr. Keith is survived by his daughters, Regina Babe of Huntsville, AL and Monika Keith of Augusta; his sister, Linda Loftin of Oakland , TN ; grandchildren, Tanya Adams, Linda Fink and Michaela Hilzendegen; as well as nine great grandchildren.
