Carter, Will photoEVANS, Ga. – peacefully died on May 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family in Evans, Georgia after 69 years of service. A memorial Eucharist will be celebrated at Church of Our Savior, Saturday, May 25 at 2:30 p.m. with a reception following. Born to Willard Susong and Edna Swann Carter on November 6, 1943 in Great Falls, Montana, he spent his formative years in Dandridge and Morristown, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BS in Mechanical Engineering while serving in the USAF where he rose to the rank of Captain. While working as an Aeronautical Engineering Officer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, he completed his MBA at Wright State University. As a corporate professional, Will worked for NCR, Westinghouse, Bechtel, International Technology Corporation, and Arabian Bechtel Company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Will held numerous volunteer leadership positions including Presidency of the Knoxville Chapter of Toastmasters International and Project Management Institute, Knoxville, TN. He volunteered with the Ministerial Association Temporary Shelter for the Homeless, Morristown Little Theater, and All Saints Episcopal Church in Morristown, TN.

In 2001, Will responded to God’s call to become a priest. He attended Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, graduating in 2004. He served as rector of St. Philips, Hinesville, GA (2004-2009); interim rector at Church of Our Savior, Martinez, GA (2009-2011); and supply priest for several months at St. Timothy’s, Kingsport, TN. Most recently, Will served at Holy Cross, Thomson, GA. He also served the larger GA community, most notably volunteering as a board member for the Manna House and Kirk Healing Center, President of the Rotary Club, chaplain to the Hinesville Military Affairs Committee, Cursillo Spiritual Director for the Diocese of GA, an Augusta State University Institutional Review Board committee member, a United Way volunteer, a mentor at Martinez Elementary School, and an AARP income tax assistant.

In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by their children: Jason Martin Carter (Lee Ann) of Knoxville, TN; Shara Lynn Carter of Reston, VA; Luke Wellington Carter (Alysen Marie) of Atlanta, and granddaughter, Emari Reece Carter; three sisters: Ann Huckaby (Bill), Frances Potter (Bill), Pattie Hall (Rick) and brother, Richard (Joyce); uncle, Alfred Swann (Betty), aunts, Sara Teets (Forrest) and Margaret Bradford as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Mrs. Conrad was born in Haleyville, AL to the late Tony and Bernie Henderson Arnold, Sr.. She was a homemaker and a member of Pineview Baptist Church.
She was preceeded in death by her son Randy Conrad.

Augusta, GA – Our dear prescious brother, Morgan Lynn Lamberth, 65, entered into rest Friday, April 19, 2013 at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Lamberth, a native of East Tallassee, AL, was the son of the late L.D. and Juanita Lynn Lamberth. Mr. Lamberth served his country in the U.S. Army and he was retired from LD’s and Sons TV Repair as a Salesman.

He is survived by his, brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph R. and Maureen Lamberth, Sr., Sherman and Linda Lamberth, Johnny D. and Nancy Lamberth; sister and brother-in-law, Peb and Larry Cohrs; nephews and their spouses, Joseph R. and Angel Lamberth, Jr., Chad and Carla Cohrs, Justin and Amanda Cohrs, Richard Cohrs, Jason Lamberth, Brian Lamberth and D.J. Williams, Ronnie PhotoAugusta, GA- Mr. Ronnie Lee Williams, Sr. 59, husband of Barbara K. Williams entered into rest Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at GHSRU Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating.
Mr. Williams was born in Augusta to the late Oscar and Hattie Spears Williams and of the Baptist faith. He was a devoted husand and father.
He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor with the Richmond County Roads and Bridges Division. He retired in 2010 with 31 years of service. The family said he loved fishing, movies and working on cars. He loved watching TV shows about building hot rod cars.
Other survivors include his son, Ronnie Lee Williams, Jr., of Augusta; brother, Billy Williams of Harlem and his wife Brenda; sisters, Mary Berry of Aiken and her husband Chris, Betty Livingston of Augusta and her husband James and Brenda Arnette of Augusta and her husband James; several grandchildren and many neices and nephews.

Mary Frances Landrum Faglier

Evans, GA – Mary Frances Landrum Faglier, a child of the King, walked into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior on March 5, 2013. She was 86 and a long-time resident of the Augusta area.
Mary is survived by, and for 67 years was the bride of, Claude A. Faglier. Additional, she is survived by her six children, Don Faglier (Cheryl), Dianne Garner (Billy), Ron Faglier (Carolyn), Jane Pardue (Jimmy), Fran Gossage (Wayne), and Nan Cantey (Russ); twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Redd. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gussie Landrum; one sister, Voncile Hadden; and one brother, Thomas Landrum.
Mary was born in Burke County, but was raised in Stapleton, GA. She graduated from Stapleton High School and worked at Dymo, Rollins Elementary Lunchroom, helped with the start-up of Burns Memorial Methodist Church Daycare, and had a daycare in her home for over 25 years. She was an active member of West Acres Baptist Church and a Charter Member of Windsor Spring Baptist Church. Her loves included family, children and sewing.
A Service of Celebration will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Reverend Steve Hartman, the Reverend Paul Robertson and the Reverend Larry Harmon officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and dear friends, Curtis Pryor and James Brisbon. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Princess Aaliyah Zariyana Brown

Augusta, GA – Princess Aaliyah Zariyana Brown, 11, received her wings and entered into the arms of God on Monday, June 12, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Reverend Pat Williams officiating and Mrs Evelyn Thomas offering the eulogy.

Aaliyah was baptized at the House of Fire Ministries where she was a member of the Praise Dance Team. She had attended Thomson Elementary School through the 3rd grade where she was a member of the Quest Program and made straight A’s. She also attended Grovetown Elementary School in the 4th grade where she was also a straight A student and a member of the Horizon Program. Her family said she was a sweet, loving child who was always happy in spite of her illness.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Julia and Curtis McCord.

She is survived by her loving mother and step-father, Tiffany Hudson and Walter Brawner; her father, Jerome Brown; her maternal grandmother, Ethel “NaNa” Hudson; her maternal grandfather, Joseph Hudson, Sr.; her paternal grandparents, Willie Shirley and the late Sarah Shirley; a devoted uncle, Joseph Hudson, Jr.; her Godmother, Katrina Johnson; her spiritual advisors, Evelyn and Gerald Thomas; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles and cousins.

Rhonda Williams Gaskill

Augusta, GA – Rhonda Williams Gaskill, 60, wife of Carl Gaskill, Sr., entered into rest Monday, June 11, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Fellowship Church with Dr. Bobby Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.

Mrs. Gaskill, a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, was the daughter of the late Edgar Carlos and Laura Nellvina Williams. She had retired from the Medical College of Georgia following over twenty five years of service as a phlebotomist. Mrs. Gaskill was an avid supporter of the Humane Society and she was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church where she was in the Ladies’ Auxillary.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Williams.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Timothy Lawson; son, Johnny Gay; sister, Regina Leverett; her grandchildren Jennifer Lawson, Justin Hopper, John Adam Gay and Ashely Nicole Gay.

Pallbearers will be Chris Wilson, Michael Wilson, Joshua Harden, Carl Gaskill, Jr., Chris Hobbs and Jonathan Sellman.

Mrs. Grice, a native of Horry County, SC, was the daughter of the late William Hartford and Lula Sing Hearl. She retired from Fort Gordon.

Mrs. Grice is survived by her sons, Robert L. Coleman of Augusta and Donald C. Coleman and his wife Sandra of Hephzibah; her daughter, Judy Davis and her husband Alton of Hephzibah; her brother, Vernon Hearl of Conway, SC; her sister, Doris James of Conway, SC; grandchildren, Frank Clark, Kimberly Slaton, Donna Coleman, Amanda Coleman, Sharon Aguilar, Susan Hudson and Brandon Coleman; fourteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Billy E. Young

Augusta, GA – Billy Everett Young, 79, husband of Laura “Gerry” Young, entered into rest Saturday, May 26, 2012 at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29, at 12:00 PM at Believer’s Gospel Chapel with Dr. Jon Reimer, Dan Hollingsworth and Andy Scott speaking.

Mr. Young, was a native of Buncombe County, NC, and the son of the late Delloyd and Bessie Smathers Young. Mr. Young had retired as a foreman from Augusta Newsprint and had served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Little Hunting Club and the Augusta Newsprint Retirees. He also worked with the Emmaus Correspondence Prison Ministry, and was a very active member of the Believer’s Gospel Chapel. His family said he was a very dependable person who loved life.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children and their spouses, Keith and Dwania Young, Roger Young, Ann Lackey, Doug and Linda Young, Michael and Ashley Young, Mary and Terry Young, Jan and Michael Baggett, Tyra Jean Martinez and Krista and Trent Bullard; a brother, D.G. Young, a sister, Hilda Smathers; eighteen grandchildren as well as ten great grandchilren.

Maude Blount Storey

Augusta, GA – Maude Blount Storey, 78, wife of Mr. A.C. Storey, entered into rest Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the residence of her daughter.

Mrs. Storey, a native of Waynesboro, had lived in Augusta for most of her life, and was the daughter of the late Bartow and Cassie Sikes Blount. She had retired following 32 years from the Doctors and Merchants Credit Bureau. She love to write poetry, drawing, gardening and fishing. She loved her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She loved the Lord her God and she was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katrina Dixon in 2008; and her son-in-law, Mike Roberson in 2010.
In addition to her husband Mrs. Storey is also survived by her son, Michael Storey; her daughters, Michelle Sconyers and her husband Larry and Debbie Storey Roberson; her sisters, Exarline “Exie” Boudreaux and Elizabeth “Lib” McKenzie; her grandchildren, Kurt Roberson, Crystal Roberson Graybill, Kyle Roberson, Jonathan Dixon, Jenna Dixon, Leslie Ann Storey Cole, Kris Storey, Blake Storey and Larry “Les” Sconyers, Jr.; as well as seventeen great grandchildren.
