Augusta, GA – Susan Kaye Beach, 59, of Boykin Road, wife of Ervin Beach, entered into rest Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
A memorial services will be held at The Good News Church Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. with reverend Matthew Judd officiating.
Mrs. Beach, a native of Ohio, was the daughter of the late William Whitaker and Frances Yvonne Faulkner. She was a cashier at Bob’s One Stop and a member of The Good News Church and a student of Augusta Technical College.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Michael Dabney; her daughters, Victoria Ellyson and Angela Anderson; brothers, Daniel and Timothy Lohman; her sister, Kathi Vermont; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Grovetown, GA – Ernie Archer, 51, of Wrightsboro Road, entered into rest Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Doctor’s Hospital.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Archer, a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, was the son of the late Wylie and Evelyn Powell Archer. He was a Horse Hand at Canterbury Farms, loved to hunt and fish and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Gardenhire, Jessica Archer and a niece who was like a daughter, Teresa Archer Reddick; a brother, Earl Archer; sisters, Wanda Hall and Wylean Hall; as well as three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Tiffany Gardenhire’s name to the Wells Fargo Bank, account number, 9957809339, to help offset funeral expenses.
The family will gather at the home of Tiffany Gardenhire on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. and then again on Saturday, following the graveside service.

Grovetown, GA – Mr. Troy Lee Waites, 97, husband of the late Vivian Foster Waites entered into rest Monday, May 30, 2011 at University Hospital.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., in Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL with Reverend Harry Baas officiating.
He is survived by his son, Troy E. Waites of Grovetown, GA; daughter, Shirley J. Karst of Callahan, FL; sister, Rebecca Ouzt of Edgefield, SC and four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Waites was born in Monticello, GA to the late Jimmie and Herma Twilley Waites. He retired from the Holly Hill Dairy Farm and worked for the Browns Creek Fish Camp and was of the Methodist faith.

Augusta, GA – Mary F. Peck, 70, of Richmond Hill Road, W., wife of Armand “Arnie” Peck, entered into rest Friday, May 27, 2011, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at the New Horizon Church of God, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. with the Reverend Floyd McComb officiating.
Mrs. Peck, was a native of Matthews, GA, and lived her entire life in the Augusta area. She was the daughter of the late Henderson and Geneva Moates Key. She worked at Four Seasons in sales and was a homemaker. Mrs. Peck was an accomplished singer and a member of the choir at New Horizon where she also taught Sunday School, Children’s Church and was involved in the Women’s Ministry.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Frank E. Jones and Daniel Jones; her daughters and son-in-law, Haley C. and Travis R. Toney, Angela Lacey and Patty Mogck; her brother, Mike Jones; sisters, Della M. Jones and Barbara Hadden; eight grandchildren; as well as a host of great grandchildren.

A private celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 24, at 1:00 P.M., in the chapel at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville, Ga. Other survivors include his son, Clarence E. Jones and his wife Patricia of Augusta; grandson, Christopher M. Jones and his wife Karla of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Tiffany (Lalo) Chavez, Tony and Micah. Mr. Jones was born in Lumber City, Ga to the late Clark and Harriet Jones. He was a retired Cab Driver, a WWII Veteran and a member of Williams Memorial CME Church. The family will have a gathering to celebrate her life at the gravesite of Glyndon G. Davis, in Hillcrest Memorial Park, on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:00 A.M.
Mrs. Davis, a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana had lived in the Augusta area since 1959. She was the daughter of the late Cyril and Ethel Johnson Moushey. She had retired following 30 years of service from Civil Serivice at the V.A. Hospital. She was a member of Cliffwood Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Owana Rogers of Augusta and Thomas Lee Davis also of Augusta; daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Perry of Tallahassee, FL, Billie Pittman of Augusta and Danielle and Clay Bagby of Atlanta, GA; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

David was born March 28, 1957 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA. He attended Sacred Heart Grammar School, graduated from Aquinas High School and attended Augusta College for three years. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served proudly as an intelligence specialist for nine years.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Ciechan; a grandson, Logan Marzolf; his mother, Jacquelyn B. Ciechan; two brothers, Matthew R. Ciechan, MD, and Michael S. Ciechan; and a loving and devoted sister, Lisa Rene Scarboro.

Cecil E. McCollum, Sr
Augusta, GA – MSG Cecil E. McCollum, Sr, US Army Retired, 77, husband of 54 years to Margie James McCollum, of Westbrook Rd, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Eisenhower Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26 2009, at 12:00 Noon., from the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, with Dr. Al Wright, and Tom Bugg officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park with full Military Honors.
Mr. McCollum will lie in state at the Church from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service.
He loved the Lord and served the Lord. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. He was also a member of the Spares and Pairs Sunday School Class.
Mr. McCollum was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Army, including tours in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge #412, Hephzibah, the American Legion Post #120, Waynesboro, the DAV Post Pendleton King #10, and the Richmond Chapter #483 order of the Eastern Star, Hephzibah. “I was Army, I am Army, I will always be Army.”
In addition to his wife he is survived by sons Cecil Edward McCollum, Jr, Augusta, and Reverend James Randall (Randy) McCollum and his wife, Theda, Newport News, VA; daughter and son in law, Leslie McCollum Mobley and Jeff Mobley, Snellville, GA; brothers and sisters in law, Charles and Carolyn McCollum, Brunswick, GA, Cary and Linda Gail McCollum, McIntosh, FL, Norman and Jan McCollum, Pensacola, FL, and Joe and Mary McCollum, Brunswick, GA; and grandchildren, Heather Elise McCollum, Hunter Evan McCollum, and Hannah Elise Mobley.
Active pallbearers will be members of the military.
Honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro and the American Legion Post #120.
