Reuben C. Chance IV, Funeral Director
Reuben is a native of Burke County and a lifelong resident of Burke and Richmond Counties. He has worked in funeral service since 1974. He was a 1978 graduate of Edmund Burke Academy in Waynesboro, GA, and a 1986 graduate of Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA, where he received the Bill Pierce Award for Funeral Professionalism. He is married to the former Debra Holt, of Augusta, GA, and together they have two children, Raleigh Catherine and Pen. He is a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Evans, the Hephzibah Agricultural Club, and Historic Augusta. Professional memberships include the Academy of Graduate Embalmers, CANA, NFDA, GFDA, and IFDA.
Phil Hydrick, Funeral Director
A native and lifelong resident of the Augusta area, Phil began his funeral directing career in 1989. He is a 1986 graduate of Evans High School and a 1997 graduate of Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science. He is married to the former Lora Hillesland and they have one daughter, Mary Catherine. He is a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, the Uptown Kiwanis Club of Augusta, the Academy of Graduate Embalmers, The Georgia Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Byron Durham, Funeral Director
A native of Michigan, Byron began his funeral directing career after serving in the US Army in 1995. He graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. He is married to the former Venita Roland and they have one daughter, Emma. Byron is a member of Fleming Baptist Church, the Fleming Lions Club, the Academy of Georgia Graduate Embalmers, The Georgia Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Debra Chance, Controller
A native of Richmond County, she is married to Reuben C. Chance IV. She is a graduate of Hephzibah High School, Augusta State University, where she earned a Bachelors of Business Administration, and the Medical College of Georgia, where she earned a Certificate in Health Informatics. She serves on the Board of Wesley United Methodist Church, and The Augusta Players, and formerly Le Chat Noir.
Albert A. Vallee, Funeral Assistant
A native of Lewiston, ME and he is the husband of the late Patricia Roberson Vallee. Mr. Al retired as the manager from W.T. Grant Department Store and from KMart. He is a member of Mann Memorial United Methodist Church where he is active in the United Methodist Men’s Club, the Gleaner’s Sunday School Class and sings in the choir. He has four grown children and grandchildren.
