Hephzibah, GA – Stephen Hutty Brown, 76, husband of 55 years to Hazel Anne Brown entered into rest Monday, February 27, 2012 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 2:30 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Robert Driggers officiating. Interment will follow in the Dearing Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was a native of Maine and was the son of the late Calvin H. & Albertine Burgoyne Brown. After working for Canadian Pacific and Georgia Railroads Mr. Brown retired from CSX Railroad with 40 years service. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church and the Gator Hunting Club. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, puzzles and word finds.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his brother Calvin Brown Jr. and his sister Sandra Brown.
Additional survivors include his sons and daughters in law, Stephen H. and Jane Brown Jr. of Belvedere, SC, and Mark J. and Traci Brown of Perkins, GA; grandchildren, Katie Way Brown of Perkins, Kyle Brown, of Belvedere, Jeffrey Brown of Belvedere, and Cory Jackson and his wife Allison of Raleigh NC; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Aiden and Xander Jackson of Raleigh, NC; brother-in-law, Jimmy Howard and his wife Jean of Dearing, GA; his brothers and sisters in law, Simon & Linda Brown of Corinth Maine, John & Holly Brown of Winterport, Maine, and Albert Brown of Ware, Mass.; his sisters and brothers in law, Alice Bouchard of Palmer Mass., Christine Washburn of Lewiston, Maine, Nadine and Stan Lyford of LeGrange, Maine, Paulette & Louie Warren of Green, Maine, and Lauris Robbins of Bangor, Maine; sister in law, Juanita Brown of Milo, Maine; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cat, Booger.

Mary Reeves Holland
Augusta, GA – Mary Reeves Holland, wife of the late John Henry Holland, of Ashley Dr., entered into rest Friday, February 24, at Trinity Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Rev. David Jones officiating.
Mrs. Holland, daughter of the late Russell M. and Louise Pearson Reeves, lived most of her life in the Augusta area. She was a pianist and organist at the Olive Road Assembly of God and at the First Assembly of God for more than fifty years. She was also a member of the First Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Nicky Reeves.
Survivors include her sons, Joseph R. “Joe” Holland and his wife Melba, Derrell Holland and his wife Esther, and Kenneth Holland; daughter, Theresa Ellen Holland; brothers, Ted Reeves and Steve Reeves; sisters, Joyce Rowell and Vicky Bacon; seven grandchildren; as well as eight great grandchildren.

Augusta, GA – Don Ansley, Sr, 81, husband of 63 years to Melbra Ansley, entered into rest Thursday, February 23, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 26, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Pastor Tom Kalliokski.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Ansley, son of the late Thurston P. and Edna Easley Ansley was born in McDuffie County. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and Fleming Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Peel (Gary), and Jean Fuller (Alvin Redd); his son, Don Ansley, Jr., (Patricia); his grandchildren, Gary Peel, Jr, Craig Peel, Michael Peel, Mary Ellen Butler, Susan Newsome, Ricky Fuller, Joshua Ansley, and Kayla Ansley; and nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Gary Peel, Jr, Craig Peel, Michael Peel, Ricky Fuller, and Joshua Ansley, and his great grandson, Chase Newsome.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Valley Falls, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late John M. & Beatrice Bridges Pinion. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Trinity Sunday School Class and an avid Braves Fan.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her brothers, John E. Pinion, Charles Pinion, Eugene Pinion, Donald Pinion, Jimmy Pinion and Ralph Pinion, her sister, Francis Pinion Kitchens.

Cecil E. Smith
Augusta – Cecil E. Smith went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 18, 2012.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 1:00 P.M., at Pine Grove Cemetery in Eatonton GA, with the Rev. Steve Patteson officiating.
He was born on May 3,1922 in Orangeburg, SC. to the late Claud and Naomi Smith.
Mr. Smith was a devout Christian man and was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Dabney Sunday School Class. He was honored to receive a plaque for Deacon Emeritus in 2009.
He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and a World War II veteran having served in Guam and Pearl Harbor. Mr. Smith served in the US Marines and the US Air Force. He was a retired Major of the US Air Force.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his first wife Pauline, his current wife Marie, who passed away on February 7, 2012 and his brother Floyd.
Mr. Smith is survived by his two sisters, Myrtle Thompson of Athens, GA and Katherine Teet of Gastonia, NC.

George William “Billy” Greiner
Blythe, GA – George William “Billy” Greiner entered into rest on February 17, 2012, at his home in Blythe, Georgia, at the age of 72.

Billy retired after 20 years of service with the Georgia DOT.
He was the loving husband of Margie Jean Greiner for 52 years and was preceded in death by his parents, Dove Voll and Maggie Lee Greiner, and his brother, Johnny Edward Greiner.
Mr. Greiner leaves one sister and brother in law, Marthanne and Oliver Croft of Augusta; one brother and sister in law, Alan and Marti Greiner of Evans; three married sons and one daughter, Keith and Pamela Greiner, of Evans, GA, Craig and Deborah Greiner, of Marietta, GA, Matt and Pam Greiner, of Woodstock, GA, and Denise Greiner, of Greenville, SC; ten granchildren and one great grandchild.

Bradford Masterson
Augusta, GA – Bradford Leon Masterson, 73, husband of Sandra Southard Masterson, entered into rest Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at University Hospital.
A memorial service will be on Sunday, February 19, 2012 in the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Frank Martin officiating.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Angie Tulley and son Jeffrey Masterson.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his mother, Adeline Masterson; son, John Masterson of Augusta; daughters, Pamela Ooten of Cleveland, TN and Suzanne Williams of Gulfport, MS; brothers, Richard Masterson, Douglas Masterson, Frank Masterson, Dane Clanton and Don Clanton; sisters, Helen Masterson, Ava Jean Weber, Sue Rosentheter, Kay Clanton and Ginger Masterson; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Masterson was born in Salem, Arkansas. He was a US Army veteran and a past Scout Master of Troop 178 and the past Post Commander of the American Legion Post 178, Richmond Masonic Lodge #412 and past Post Commander of the American Legion 11th District of Georgia. His favorite past times were fishing and hiking.

Appling, GA- Mrs. Peggy Powell Dunn, 64, entered into rest Thursday, February 16, 2012 at her sister’s residence.

Interment will follow in Burke Memorial Gardens.
A native of Waynesboro, GA, she was a 1966 graduate of Waynesboro High School and a graduate of Trident Technical College.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dunn, her son, Mark Dunn (1970) and her son Craig Dunn (1972).
Survivors include her son Michael Dunn & his wife Kim; two grandchildren, Brittany and Matthew Dunn all of Summerville, SC; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. W. R. Powell of Waynesboro, GA; her sister, Jackie McIlwain & her husband, Horace, of Appling, GA; her brothers, Bobby Powell and his fiance, Barbara Hays, of Jonesboro, GA, and Tommy Powell & his wife, Bonnie of Waynesboro, GA; and numerous niece & nephews.

Walton Odum Ridgdill
Augusta, GA – Walton Odum Ridgdill, 91, husband of the late Annie Liza Causey Ridgdill, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 14, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at Silvercrest Baptist Church this Friday, February 17, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. John Kilpatrick and Rev. H.G. Ridgdill officiating. Mr. Ridgdill will lie in state at the church from 1:00 until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Ridgdill, a native of Lyons, GA, was the son of the late Henry Morgan and Lily Mae Meeks Ridgdill. He was a retired mechanic and commercial fisherman, an avid gardener, and he loved music. He helped build the current Silvercrest Baptist Church where he was a member, an orginal trustee and Sunday School teacher.
He was a proud World War II Veteran, having been a part of the Allied invasion of Normandy, France, in 1944.
Mr. Ridgdill was preceded in death by his son, Henry Ridgdill; and his great granddaughter, Maria Lynn Evans.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Garry Richardson, Patsy and Howard Johnson, and Ruth and Roger Tomlin; sons and daughters-in-law, Bob Beltempo, Elmer and Cathy Ridgdill, Billy and Jan Ridgdill, Gaynor and Terri Ridgdill; brother, Dr. J. R. Ridgdill; grandchildren, Angie Scott (Jeff), Dr. Penny Ridgdill, Heather Ridgdill, Toni Evans (Evan), Roger Tomlin, Jr., and Amber Ridgdill; great grandchildren, Shelby Scott, Annie Evans and Forest Walton Evans; and numerous other loved relatives.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Esgate, Helen Washington, Mary May, and Ann Williams; and her brothers, Isaac Dixon, John Dixon, Joseph Dixon, Bobby Dixon, and Max Dixon.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn W. Morris and her husband, Michael, of Loganville, GA; her brothers, Lewis Dixon, of Stapleton, and William “Bill” Dixon, of Allen, OK; her grandchildren, Brian Peck, Jason Peck, and Christina Peck; her great grandchildren, Kayla Peck, Logan Peck, and Evan Peck; her special nieces, Tammy DeLoach, Melody Blease, and Jayne Andrews; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
