Augusta, GA – Jack L. “Daddy Jack” Womack, 83, husband of 57 years to the late Mary Sisk Womack, of Richmond Hill Rd, entered into rest Monday, January 30, 2012, at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 2, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Keith Cox and Reverend Jimmy Harris officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Womack, son of the late John T. and Adele Ivey Womack, was a native of Augusta. He retired after forty-three years as supervisor with Georgia Natural Gas. He was a member of Burns Memorial United Methodist Church and was an avid hunter and bird dog trainer.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe H. Womack.
He is survived by his sons, Jay and Kimberly, and Bill and Gindy; his grandchildren, John and Kristen, Jimmie and, Heather, Emma, Jack, and Tecie; his brother, John W. Womack, of Evans; and his special niece, Cheryl Ann Mobley, of Martinez.
Active pallbearers will be Roy Stampley, Darrel Vaughn, Steve Krome, Reverend Jimmy Harris, Ricky McCleod, Keith McCleod, and Scott Gay.
Honorary pallbearers will be the retired employees of Georgia Natural Gas.

Augusta, GA – Alvin M. (Mickey) Murphey, 71, husband of the late Shirley Chavis Murphey, entered into rest Sunday, January 29, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Murphey, son of Dorothy Murphey Erickson and the late Roy Lenard Murphey, was a native of Richmond County. He retired as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 1579 for forty-nine years.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his sons, Michael L. Murphey and wife, Heather, of Aiken, James H. Murphey, of Augusta, and Eric W. Murphey, of Evans; his daughter, LeeAnne Murphey, of Evans; his sisters, Vivian Irwin, Lenora Bailiff, and Deborah Campbell, and her husband, Brian, all of Augusta; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Barrentine, daughter of the late Charles and Sara Mae Smith Mixon, was a native of Johnson County, Georgia. She was a member of First Primitive Baptist Church, the Adult Bible Study and the choir.
She is survived by her son, Troy R. Barrentine and his wife Jennifer, of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Emma Marie Barrentine and Willa Atley Barrentine, also of Charleston; her stepson, Curt J. Barrentine, of Boston, MA; her stepdaughter, Cheryl Barrentine, of Jackson, NJ; and her brother, Willie T. Mixon and his wife, Annette, of Wrightsville, GA.

Buddy was the office manager for Bell Investment Company. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan for over forty years. He would travel to Athens to watch them play football, only to return home to watch it again as many times as it was shown on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Martha Phillips Fitzgerald; and sisters Marian Johnson, Jane Eve, Kay Pierson, and Beverly McBeath.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Chuck Fitzgerald and his wife, Stacey; his brother Tom Fitzgerald and his wife, Cerelia; his sister, Shirley Greaves; and his grandchildren, Joshua Fitzgerald, Christopher Fitzgerald, Kyle Fitzgerald, and Kasey Fitzgerald.

Augusta, GA – Anne Pearre Smith Ansley, 90, wife of the late Lonnie Smith and Wilmer Ansley, entered into rest Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Doctors Hospital.

Mrs. Ansley, known as “Mimi” to her grandchildren, was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Margaret Cornelia Rosier Pearre. She was a lifelong resident of Augusta and worked as a Bus Driver for the Richmond County Board of Education. She was a charter member of Burns Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, the Christine Scott Circle, and the Happy Club; and where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Hephzibah Chapter #463 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Fleming Homemakers Club.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Judith Dedman; her son Lonnie Jerome Smith; her grandson Jason Eric Mills; her sisters Adele Griffin, Gloria Reese, Dorothy Gaskill, and Janice Johnikin; and her brother Buddy Pearre.

Mrs. Hodo, daughter of the late Beufort and Jesse Elizabeth Janes Scott, was born in Augusta. She was longtime member of Central Christian Church where she was a member of the Helping Hands and the Golden Agers. She was a homemaker and had been a seamstress for many years.
She is survived by her son Darrell Hodo, of Isle of Palms, SC, and her daughter and son in law, Donna H. and Bobby Markwalter, of Martinez; her grandchildren, Bobby Markwalter, II (Catrina), Sheila Sherwood (Mike), Russ Markwalter (Gena), Ashley Jackson (Russell), Michelle Dunn (Todd), Carolyn Hodo, and Scott Hodo; and seven great grandchildren.

Mr. Culpepper worked for 30 years as a Lab Technician at Savannah River Site. He was born in Bishop, GA and lived in Augusta, GA for 70 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and collected autographs for over fifty years. He enjoyed going to auctions and was an avid news junkie.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois E. Culpepper; one son, Michael L. Culpepper of Augusta; two daughters, Myrna E. Culpepper of Augusta, and Renea Soos (Anthony) of Grovetown, GA; one grandson, Jonathan Soos (Leah) and one great granddaughter, Raya Soos, all of Sacramento, CA; one brother, Charles Culpepper, of Evans, GA; one sister, Barbara Boynton of Augusta, GA; several brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis E. Culpepper, Sr and mother Tula Tate, both of Augusta.
