Augusta, GA – Michael “Mike” Knotts, husband of Claudia Knotts of Lakewood Dr., went to his final rest after a long struggle with cancer on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at his residence.
Mike was loved by all who knew him and was “Daddy” to every child who ever needed him. He was born in Atlanta and was a painter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 1:00 P.M., at the First United Pentecostal Church of Augusta, with Pastor Wesley McClain and Pastor Stanley Lewis officiating. Mr. Knotts will lie in state from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Knotts was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Knotts and his sister, Linda Cooper.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Knotts is survived by his mother Margie Sims; his children, Todd Kuhn, Marie Treadwell, Mitchell Treadwell, Tony Treadwell, Travis Stewart, Faye Treadwell, Joshua Blackwell, Debra Blackwell and Corey Hill; sisters, Annette Cushman, Nellie Lewis, Becky Williams and Eunice Ohmes; brother, Eddie John Seigler; and Poppy’s precious little boy, Johnathan Franklin (Nate, Nate); Godson, Ronald West; as well as many grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Burke, Ralph Folger, Alex Lewis, Eddie John Seigler, George Watts, and Mike Williams.
The family will receive friends this Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00 at the funeral home.

Jerry Jerome O’Neal
Grovetown, GA – Jerry Jerome O’Neal, husband of Lois Jeanie O’Neal of Wilkins Rd., entered into rest Friday, April 16, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 2:00 P.M., from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Reverend Jerry Lightsey officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. O’Neal, was born in Louisville, GA, was a lifelong resident of Augusta and a life long member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. O’Neal enjoyed fishing, hunting, and when able helping anyone who asked.
Mr. O’Neal was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Jean O’Neal in 2000.
In addtion to his wife Mr. O’Neal is survived by his parents, Pete and Sara O’Neal of Augusta; his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Lee and Joseph Morganstern of Augusta;
brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Michele O’Neal of Evans; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Larry Cason of Martinez and Marlene and Gene Weed of Clemmons, NC; as well as one grandson, Timothy Micheal Morganstern.
Pallbearers and will be Joseph Morganstern, Joshua Linton, Robert O’Neal, Gene Weed, Larry Cashin and Marty Jowers.

Augusta, GA – Marchie Lorraine Lockamy, 55, of Bridgeover Ave, wife of the late David Wayne Lockamy, entered into rest Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, at 3:00 PM, from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Ollie K. Wall officiating.
Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Lockamy, daughter of the late Richard Wyman and Lorraine Stroble Williams, was born in Richmond County. She was a Department Manager with WalMart for nine years.
She is survived by her son, Joshua Lockamy, of Augusta; sister, Terri Wynn and her husband, David, of San Jose, CA; aunts Betty Hattaway, of Hephzibah, and Janette Widner, of Bath, SC; and nieces, Shawna Martinez, Shanika Perez, Terri Perez, Melanie Perez, Alicia Martinez, Stephanie Willis, and Diane Wynn.

Sebring, FL – Joyce L. Lawrence, 72, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, April 8, 2010, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010, at 11:00 AM, from the graveside in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lawrence lived in Augusta and retired from the S&S Cafeteria after 40 years. She moved to Sebring, FL, in 2007 to be with her daughter and her grandchildren. Her grandbabies were her greatest comfort here on this earth. She will be remembered with lots of wonderful memories and her beautiful smile will be in our hearts always.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Louise Sims, and by her brother, Sonny Sims.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Lawrence Simmons and her husband, Robert; granddaughters, Joy Baker and husband, LeArcher, and Stephanie Comacho and husband, Michael; great grandchildren, Ian, Kenyon, and Samara Chandler, and Emelie Camacho; brothers, Oscar Gene Sims and McCorkle Hugh Sims; and many loving family members and friends that were very dear to her.

Mario “Mike” Villarreal
Augusta, GA – Mario “Mike” Villarreal, 69, of Brown Rd, entered into rest Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 15, at 7:00 PM, from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Father Willis E. Everett officiating.
Mr. Villarreal, son of the late Lucrecia Garza and Federico Villarreal, was born in Nueva Laredo, Mexico, and had lived in the area for thirty-nine years. He served in the United States Army with three tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW. He trained race horses, was a team roper and announced horse shows. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was an ardent fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Longhorns.
Mr. Villarreal was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Bertha Villarreal.
He is survived by son Michael Kevin Villarreal, of Augusta; daughters, Lucrecia Shelton and husband, Matthew, Brandi Villarreal, all of Augusta, and Rebecca McPherson and husband, James, of Soldotna, Alaska; his wife, Debra Villarreal; brothers, Fred Villarreal, Ruben Villarreal, and Robert Villarreal, all of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Alicia Alfaro, Norma Guerra, Elva DeLeon, Marta Villarreal, and Juanita Carter, all of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Rachel Goodwin, and Cory Goodwin, both of Gibson, GA, and Heidi Goodwin, of Soldotna, Alaska; and great grandchild, Liam.

Ernest “Ernie” Brooks
Hephzibah, Ga.- Ernest “ Ernie” Brooks, 68, husband of Judith Brooks of Farmers Bridge Road entered into rest Saturday, April 3, 2010 after a two year courageous battle with melanoma.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Brooks was a native of Stapleton , Georgia and son of the late Clifford Brooks and Rosa McTier Newsome. He was a retired commercial carpenter and avid gardener, fisherman and Braves fan. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy T. Brooks, Thelma Sheppard, Neelie Criswell, Junior Brooks, J.S. Brooks, Cleon Beasley, Jimmy Brooks and Cleo Gosnell.
Additional survivors include: three devoted and loving step-children, Deirdre Kinard , Richard Solomon and his wife Connie all of Walterboro, SC, Catherine Devin and her husband Michael of Virginia Beach, VA, his daughters, Ruth Ann Eidson and her husband Keith of Arkansas, Janice Reese and her husband Roger of Augusta, his brothers, Felton Beasley and his wife Shirley of Stapleton and Elton Beasley of Augusta, eight grandchildren , two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gay was born in Richmond County, son of the late Dozier Hill and Mary Lee DuBose Gay. Mr. Gay worked as a carpenter and general maintenance with Sherman and Hemstreet for many years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Additional survivors include his daughters, Rita Annette Beeland and her husband Eddie, Debra Darlene Morgan, June Arlene Gay, all of Augusta, Jane Marie Yarbrough and her husband Mark of Hephzibah; his brother Wayne Allen Gay and his wife Carol of Evans; his sister June Annette Goff and her husband Charles of Augusta.
