Mrs. Edith E. O’Hargan

Evans, Ga.- Mrs. Edith E. O’Hargan, 85, wife of the late Thomas James O’Hargan, entered into rest Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Westwood Nursing Home.
Mrs. O’Hargan was born in Carrollton, New York and was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Olean Kuret.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Robbins of Evans, GA, and Diane M. Fagan of Boynton Beach, FL; her sons, James T. O’Hargan of Belden, MS, and Roger O’Hargan of Prosper, TX; her sister, Frances Gomes of Derrick City, PA and nine grandchildren.

Grovetown, GA – Patricia Rachels “Nana” Collins, 61, entered into rest Friday, March 26, 2010, at the residence.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 2:00 P.M., from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Reverend Fred Heard officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Ms. Collins, a lifelong resident of Augusta, was the daughter of the late Virginia Lamb Rachels. She had worked for Travelers Insurance Company as a Senior Claims Processor and was a member of Mize Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved her grandchildren and was a mother to all.
Survivors include her father, Jesse Rachels of Augusta; her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Karen Collins of Hephzibah; her brother and sister in law, Harry S. and Kathy Rachels of North Augusta, SC, sister, Kay R. Barwick, of Augusta, brother, Phillip Rachels of Grovetown, and her sister, Julia Rachels Hartshorne of Grovetown; grandchildren, Bobby and Ginny Barwick, Caitlin and Cailey Collins, Trey and Drew Hartshorne; and a special family friend Jackie Hart.

Hephzibah, GA – Robert Bruce Burris, Jr., 86, husband of Anita Cralley Burris entered into rest Friday, March 19, 2010 at the residence.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 2:30 P.M., in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Robert Lehn officiating.
Mr. Burris was born in Fairbury, IL to the late Robert Bruce and Caroline Wetzel Burris, Sr.. He was a WWII US Army Air Corp and US Navy veteran and a member of Westside Baptist Church, DAV and the Gold Times Sunday School Class.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Gold Times Sunday School Class.

J. Douglas (Doug) Rabun

Augusta, GA – J. Douglas (Doug) Rabun, 84, husband of 61 years to Dorothy (Dot) Key Rabun, of Stratford Dr, entered into rest, Friday, March 19, 2010, at Golden Living Center.
Memorial services will be held Monday, March 22, 2009, at 4:00 P.M., from First Baptist Church of Augusta, with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating.
Mr. Rabun, son of the late Oliver and Mollie Cato Rabun, was born in Jefferson County, GA. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Castleberry Foods after 35 years and was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon Emeritus, and a member of the Crusaders Bible Class. He was a member of the Webb Lodge #166, and a former member, and past president, of Forest Hills Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sisters in law, Grace Grayson, of Whitwall, TN, Mrs. Wade H. (Pet) Key, of Jackson, SC, and Carolyn James, of Augusta; nephew, Roger Jenkins, of Augusta; and numerous other nieces and nephews; cousin, Naomi Rabun and her family, of Augusta; and special friends Joe and Sue Converse, of Augusta.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Deacons and the Crusaders Bible Class.

Allene Beasley

Stillwater, OK – Allene Beasley, 79, wife of Gary Perry, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, entered into rest Monday, March 15, 2010, at Stillwater Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 20, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors, with the Reverend Hugh Derrell Thompson, Jr, officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Beasley, daughter of the late James Orvid and Lillian Christine Boatwright Brown, was a native of Metter, Georgia and had worked at Rathborne (HHR) in Savannah. She retired from Dymo. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Donnie Beasley, of Evans; daughter, Peggy Shepherd, of Augusta; the father of her children, Harmon C. Beasley, of Augusta; brothers, Earl Brown, of Rincon, and Larry Brown, of Savannah; sisters, Grace Hale, of Ellaville, and Juanita Kirby Morris, of Statesboro; grandchildren, Jason Shepherd, Kristopher Shepherd, and Kelsie Beasley; great-grandchildren, Kai Hoversland, Azure Hoversland, and Ari Shepherd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martinez, Ga.- Dorothy A. Ferons, 69, wife of Bob Ferons of Crown Mill Dr. entered into rest Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the residence.

Mrs. Ferons was born in Richmond County Georgia and the daughter of the late Bert and Julia Lamb Williams. She was retired from the US Postal Service having been a rural mail carrier for many years.
Mrs. Ferons was member of Miracle Baptist Church where she had been pianist and a member of the choir and was member of Doug’s Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Skillman, daughter of the late John and Bessie Moye Taylor was born in Augusta, GA and graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1960. She was the owner and operator of Skillman’s Group Daycare. She was a member of Mt Lebanon Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Janet Ballard Frazier and her husband, Russell, of Lexington, SC, Rebecca Ballard Wyles and her husband, Jeff, of Hephzibah, and Rene’ Skillman Jobo and her husband, Bryan, of Topeka, KS; sisters, Minnie Lee Price, of Evans; grandsons, Derek Touchstone, Dalton James, Alex Wyles, and Noah Wyles; granddaughter, Alisha Frazier; and several nieces and one nephew.

Mr. Dillard Jarrard

Augusta, Ga.- Mr. Dillard Jarrard, 86, husband of the late Rosena Whisnant Jarrard entered into rest Saturday, March 6, 2010 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. from Flowing Wells Worship Center with Pastor Tony Rhodes officiating, Mr. Jarrard will lie in state at the church from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Jarrard was a native of Hall County Georgia and the son of the late John Marvin and Cleo Chambers Jarrard. He was a retired Paint contractor at Bush Field, a member of Flowing Wells Worship Center and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Teressa Kramer of Blythe, James Franklin Locklear of Martinez and Dillard Warren Locklear of Statum, Ga. , four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchild, his brothers, Roy Jarrard of North Augusta, Willis Jarrard of Augusta , his sisiters, Georgia P.
