Willie Samuel “Tick” Sheppard

Hephzibah, GA – Willie Samuel “Tick” Sheppard, 95, of Morgan Rd, husband of the late Ruby Rhodes Sheppard, entered into rest, Saturday, January 2, 2010, at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 2:00 PM, from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with the Reverend Donald Lumpkin officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Sheppard was born in Avera, Georgia and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Avera, GA, and Sweetwater Baptist Church in Thomson, GA.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mervin Sheppard and his daughter, Linda Wilson.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Judy and Lynwood Saxon, of Hephzibah, grandchildren, Angie Bowers, Keith Saxon, Noel Saxon, and Denise Todd, five great grandchildren; sister, Ogle Allen of Clearwater, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Keith Saxon, Noel Saxon, Chesly Bennett, Tommy Sheppard, James Sheppard, and Larry Allen.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 4, from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Vanessa Denise Lee Logan

Logan Vanessa photoAugusta, GA – Mrs. Vanessa Denise Lee Logan, 50, of 2620 Corning St., was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2009, after an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Reverend Willie Givens officiating.

Mrs. Logan was born in Augusta, GA on May 4, 1959, to the late Mrs. Dennie Lee O’Bryant and the late Mr. Hanner Griffin. She was educated in the Richmond County School System and was united in holy matrimony at an early age on May 5, 1978, to Mr. Lewis (Lonnie) Logan.  To this union four children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Miss LaVerne Butler, and her brothers, Mr. James Moore and Mr. Keroy O’Bryant.

Mrs. Logan leaves to cherish her memory her husband Mr. Lewis Logan; her adopted mother, Mrs. Minnie Lee Hope; two daughters, Miss Tyshica (Monie) Logan and Miss Serloma (Kizzy) Logan, of Augusta; two sons, Mr. Louis (Man-Man) Logan, and Mr. Juwan Stoney, of Augusta; five sisters, Mrs. Jessie Lee Gracy, Miss Deneta Moore, Mrs. Andrea Grant, Evangelist Jean Garnett, all of Augusta, GA, Mrs. Clarissa (Theodore) Blackshear of West Palm Beach, FL; three brothers, Mr. Johnny Lee Hunt, Mr. Ronnie Butler of Augusta, GA, Mr. Allen (Claudia) O’Bryant, Jr. of Macon, GA, seven grandchildren, Terrence Griffin, Mya Griffin, Shania Logan, Kaia Logan, Dayshon Logan, Kayla Logan, and Isaiah Logan; mother-in-law, Mrs. Rose Logan, three brothers-in-law, Mr. Robert (Lizzie) Logan, Mr. Jerry (Julia) Logan, Mr. Johnny (Barbara) Logan, a special friend, Mr. Josh Harden,  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Robert A. Parrish

Augusta, GA – Robert A. Parrish, 75, of Fairmont St., entered into rest Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. from the graveside in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Reverend Steve Patteson officiating.

Mr. Parrish, a native of Gracewood, GA, was the son of the late Henry Franklin and Mildred Greene Parrish. He loved golf and had played at Green Meadows and Goshen Plantation. Mr. Parrish was a U.S. Navy veteran and had been an accountant with Georgia Pacific.

He is survived by his children, Jorge Salas of Augusta, Gwen Parrish of Augusta, Debra Parrish Steedley of Woodstock, GA and Sandra Dee Parrish of Augusta; grandchildren, Lindsy Nicole Steedley, Nicholas Scott Steedley, Daniel Ray Faircloth and Jennifer Dawn Rowan; great grandchildren, Jacee Rowan, Colton Faircloth, Corbin Faircloth, Daniel Faircloth, Jr., and Joseph Faircloth.

Friends may call at the funeral home during the day on Sunday or following the service at the graveside.
